The Book series called Law & Science will promote knowledge of the legal, ethical, social and organisational aspects of scientific research, in particular among scientists, PhD students and students not usually trained on EU topics, according to the deep interaction between the law and scientific activity or the juridical issues arising from research. The research activities will deal with the ethical and legal issues under the European Union (with reference to the European Charter of the European Union and EU legislation and praxis) and Member States and international perspectives (especially taking into account the sources of the European Council, such as the Convention on Human Rights and Biomedicine and its Additional Protocols like the protocol concerning Biomedical Research and the Protocol Genetic Testing for Health Purposes). Generally speaking, bioethics is a matter characterised by an ideological/political normative complexity and by the different aims which have to be regulated under multilevel legal sources, praxis and interpretations.
The Book series is peer-edited.
The Book series was born from the scientific collaboration among the University of Regensburg (Prof. Reinar Arnold), the University of Perugia (Prof. Roberto Cippitani) and the National Research Council (Italy), Institute CNR-IFAC (dot. Valentina Colcelli).
